About Role

ROLE OVERVIEW
This position will be responsible for driving and implementing the strategy and management
of the organization’s development function with a focus on major donors, charitable trusts,
corporate partnerships, institutional and grant funding. The position will be responsible for
identifying, establishing, and nurturing donor relationships for the COMPANY’S Institute and for building
a more formal fundraising function as the organization grows.
This position will work directly with the Founder and the Executive Director to develop a clear
fundraising strategy to include donations and support from individuals, corporations, and
foundations around the world.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Defining avenues and approaches for funding
• Research funding prospects in India and abroad and build a database of prospective
and current funders
• Identify appropriate Request for Proposals (RFPs) and develop proposals and
responses
• Cultivate relationships with individuals and institutions of various giving capacities and
identify meaningful ways to engage them in the COMPANY’S Institute’s work
• Explore creative approaches to implement fundraising campaigns, including virtual
events and crowdfunding, and secure commitments/ donations from individuals and
institutional donors
• Manage and nurture relationships with existing donors and ensure a timely reporting
• Foster engagement with donors/potential donors by effectively communicating the
organization’s mission, vision, and ongoing operations from time to time
Strategizing and Planning
• Strategize and plan the yearly fundraising goals and work closely with leadership in
budgeting exercises
• Leverage board and leadership for first conversations with potential donors and drive
follow-ups
• Apprise the leadership and other stakeholders of any major shifts in the overall
philanthropic funding landscape
Driving Brand and Awareness through External Publicity
• Work closely with the communications team to develop publicity material for
fundraising purposes, and provide input on communications and messaging in
brochures, on the website, etc. with implications for fundraising
• Drive a periodic newsletter for donors to get regular updates about the COMPANY’S Institute
• Work closely with the program team to preparing reports for grant proposals and to
conduct Monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment
• Be an articulate and engaging storyteller to inspire donors to increase their support to
the COMPANY’S Institute
• Represent the organization at meetings with potential donors and external events
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelors in any field
WORK EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of strong experience in nonprofit fundraising management, outreach, and expertise
in CSR/Institutional funding.
SKILLS:
A self-motivated, highly energetic individual with strong communication and interpersonal
skills, excellent writing skills, relationship management, and organizational skills.

Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging presentations to potential and current donors. A
collaborative mindset and ability to work with teams, both internal and external, including the
Institute’s volunteers and advisory groups.
